The Countyline Levee Setback project involved the construction of a new, 6,000 foot setback levee along the White River near the King County and Pierce County border. The goal of the project was to reduce flood elevations, address the loss of channel capacity, and reconnect the river to its historic floodplains. The project also involved the construction of a 5,780 foot wooden bio-revetment and multiple engineered log jams. The project was completed in 2017.
